This year is a Holy Year in Santiago de Compostela (the traditional Spanish title for St. James the Greater– literally, St. James of the Field of Stars, though the origin of this name would require a separate post), because the feast day, July 25, falls on a Sunday. Gregor Kollmorgen at New Liturgical Movement has a nice post with great photos here.

If you have not made the ancient pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, in Northwest Spain, perhaps this is the year. Like, maybe, if you have done Chartres already?

This pilgrimage has been known to convert souls.
