I’m not the first to note that the reaction to the “pandemic” has produced its own religion. People are created by God to practice true religion, and when they abandon the true religion it is natural to replace it with another one. And as those few who still practice logic will attest, if there exists one true religion then all others are necessarily false.
The Sacrament of salvation and initiation in the true religion is, of course, Baptism. Our Lord instructed his apostles to baptize all nations in the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost (Mt. 28:19), and promised to be with us until the consummation of the world. The anti-religion has its own parody of baptism– the experimental genetic stew that must be forced on its adherents. It, too, promises salvation and that the blessed pandemic will be with them until the consummation of the world.
Our Lady has given members of the true religion two very powerful sacramentals, ones which Sr. Lucia claims are linked: the Rosary and the Scapular. Our Lady of Fatima urged us to pray the Rosary every day, and to pray and do penance for sinners. The anti-religion urges us to be tested often for the virus, and to distrust the untested.
As we wear our scapulars, we are reminded of Our Lady’s words to St. Simon Stock, “Whosoever dies wearing this Scapular shall not suffer eternal fire.” As the followers of the anti-religion wear their masks, they are reminded by their masters that “whosoever wears this mask will not contract nor die of the virus.”
We are called to be faithful to the true religion– and to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ– until death, even unto martyrdom. You can bet the anti-religion will demand continued “faith” to it–apostasy from the true religion– even unto our murder.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, pray for us!
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on us, and come soon!
