I am surprised by the near unanimity with which Trad, Inc. has embraced the Bergoglio version of the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart. I guess I qualify as a cynical, grumpy old guy who just can’t give the “Pope” any credit, even when he does something good. Well, okay then. It was nice of him to put on his elaborate show of having it done as the capstone of a reconciliation service. But that’s what it was, a show, with the sole exception of the final two paragraphs of the closing prayer. Everything leading up to the actual prayer of consecration was typical Bergoglio: a big photo op and an ideological, Modernist word salad of a prayer. Nevertheless, I pray God will respond favorably. On a related note: I was seeing some claims on anti-social media this week of instances of tears or blood flowing on Marian statues in various places. I can’t find anything now, as every search engine I try comes up with nothing but atheists and anti-Catholics scoffing at the very idea of any miracle, much less one involving Our Lady. Anyone here know about such events occurring recently?
Like I said in my earlier post, I don’t think that this would cut it, even if he were the pope. However I have total confidence in our lady to bring whatever good can be brought out of this. Good or bad we will be able to tell soon enough. However I don’t take anyone’s word for it that Benedict did any consecration along with Bergoglio. My wife had a very keen insight to think that perhaps Benedict did do a real consecration and the Bergoglio gambit only served to bring the bishops of the world in union with him. Again we’ll tell in time.
well that really Is an interesting insight Tinman ! btw: why is Pope Benedict wearing two watches ?
